OUR SYSTEM:

We have created a system that gradually eliminates sleep apnea. In its original version, the Breathe & Dream system was connected to the physical body and we managed to create a wireless version. Our system also covers some basic health conditions that revitalize the body and affect sleep apnea. This system once deposited on the night table creates an environment that anyone within a radius of 30 feet of it benefits from its treatment. The results are gradually felt over a period of one to three weeks depending on the condition of apnea of the person.

The objective is to maintain a regular uninterrupted breathing and a quality of sleep. The broadcast will not affect the breathing rate as needed by the carbon dioxide or oxygen levels that are necessary in the blood. It does not control how much sleep is needed since the sleep patterns changes are based on the age and/or a person’s lifestyle. With the BREATHE & DREAM unit the brain does not forget; it receives continuous signals to instruct the lungs to breathe.

Market field tests: We started conducting field and laboratory tests to clarify and confirm that our system normalizes the quality of sleep.

Our study reported some findings that identified four other additional results that should be looked at:.

WHAT IS SLEEP APNEA (also spelled sleep apnoea),
Sleep apnea syndrome is defined scientifically by the stopping of breathing during sleep. In order to be classified apnea it must stop for at least 10 seconds and be repeated at least 5 times per hour. In the most common form, this follows loud snoring. There may be a choking or snorting sound as breathing resumes. As the disorder disrupts normal sleep, those affected may experience sleepiness or feel tired during the day. In children it may cause problems in school, or hyperactivity.

Three forms of sleep apnea are normally referred to :
Obstructive (OSA), central (CSA), and a combination of the two called mixed. OSA is the most common form. People with sleep apnea may not be aware they have it. In many cases, it is normally first observed by a family member. Sleep apnea is often diagnosed with an overnight sleep study.  

Sleep has traditionally been divided into stages which all produce different brain waves as a result of the brain's electrical activity, ranging from light sleep - the first stage - to deep sleep and the special REM (rapid eye movement) sleep, and back again. This way of dividing sleep into stages is really based on historical conventions. We've come up with a more precise and detailed description of sleep as a higher number of brain networks which change their communication patterns and dynamic characteristics during sleep. We even believe that an exceptional number of new-born child are born with sleep apnea. 

Who has sleep apnea ?
. Canadians adults are 15% at high risk and 15% are at moderate risk.
. It is estimated that 22 million Americans suffer from sleep apnea

Suggested treatments up to now are much diversified and are based on numerous interpretations of the causes and the associated solutions.

Treatments:
The treatment of sleep apnea is done through a medical device. This can be a continuous positive pressure (CPP) machine or a mandibular advancement orthosis (OAM). The choice of the device varies according to the symptoms and the severity of the apneas. (FTE).
1: The mandibular advancement orthosis (OAM) is a dental device made to measure. It keeps the lower jaw in the advanced position during sleep, thus freeing the passage of air at the pharynx.






Costs vary from $60.00 of the shelf to $2500.00 for a custom piece.
Side effects:
 . Some discomfort can be experienced, initially enough to warrant stopping usage.
. The jaw can become sore and stiff
. Teeth can ache and move out of alignment
. There can be painful wear of the joints and tooth ache.
. Also are hyper salivation, mouth dryness, tooth discomfort and jaw joint tenderness.
. Expect a minimum of six months and up to two years effective life

2: Continuous positive pressure (CPAP) machine: The machine is to help a person who has obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) breathe more easily during sleep. A CPAP machine increases air pressure in the throat so that the airway doesn't collapse when a person breathes. One major problem is that they have to say goodbye to romanticism with their bed partner. 







Costs vary from $ 850.00 to $3000.00 plus an annual cost of $150.00 to $ 300.00 for replacement mask.
Some CPAP machine side effects that may occur are :
Air escapes or blows into your eyes
Too much or too little pressure while breathing
Mask comes off during sleep
Waking up with a dry mouth or throat (try turning up the humidity for relief)
Skin irritation around the mask or strap area (try cleaning your equipment well and wait a few days. It   
    could be a buildup of dirt and bacteria that are causing irritation)
The filters, hose, mask, and mask cushion accumulate dirt and bacteria.
Sleeping partner is disturbed.
CPAP masks, however, should be replaced at least once a per year.
Patient acceptance of CPAP is a major issue. Approximately one in three (31%) immediately refuse
  therapy.
Once accepted by the patient, it is estimated that an additional 15% drop out of the CPAP within a 3-year
  period. Thus, after 3 years, the proportion of patients diagnosed and still on treatment with CPAP is
  approximately 54%.

3. Other solutions that are offered on the internet: Yoga, use a humidifier, avoid alcohol and smoking. Lose weight, sleep on your side, change sleep positions, using the "tennis ball trick", stop taking caffeine and heavy meals, maintain regular sleep hours, have supplemental oxygen, pillows, mattresses, exercise and use anti-inflammatory spray.

4: Sleep apnea implants :
One of the newest treatments for sleep apnea involves the insertion of a pacemaker like system that stimulates muscles to keep airways open so you can breathe during sleep. The new treatment has been approved by the FDA in the U.S. The cost is between $18 000.00 and $40 000.00

5: Surgery :
Surgery is used to increase the size of the airway, thus reducing episodes of sleep apnea.The surgeon may remove tonsils, adenoids, or excess tissue at the back of the throat or inside the nose, reconstruct the jaw to enlarge the upper airway, or implant plastic rods into the soft palate. Tongue reduction surgery is said to be helpful. Surgery carries risks of complications and infections, and in some rare cases, symptoms can become worse after surgery.

Latest ‘technology’ on the market / 2017:
The latest improvement systems on the market are cell phone apps that provide insight into a user’s sleep habits along with personalized recommendations to improve sleep. Some calculate the length and quality of the sleep and makes recommendations such as recommending sleep solutions, such as bedroom lighting, digital sleep therapies, soothing pillows. But they all leave you with your problem which is sleep apnea.
